DankRP Rules

Please read carefully. Some rules may look the same but have been updated to align with the new DankRP experience.

1. Basic Rules
1.1 RDM / RDA
  1. 1.1.1You cannot kill or arrest without a valid RP reason.
  2. 1.1.2Killing the Mayor requires a valid RP reason. Default laws alone do not count.
  3. 1.1.3Political prisoners may be killed outside their cell without a reason.
  4. 1.1.4This does not apply to normal prisoners.
1.2 NLR
  1. 1.2.1Applies on death, job change, and release from arrest unless escaped.
  2. 1.2.2You may remember past events, but cannot act on them by killing, arresting, warranting, or similar actions.
  3. 1.2.3You can return to raids as described in the raiding section.
  4. 1.2.4Revived players may continue their current life and interactions.
1.3 Common Sense
  1. 1.3.1FearRP is not enforced.
  2. 1.3.2After a server crash, no raiding for 10 minutes.
  3. 1.3.3Staff have final say in situations not listed.
1.4 Free Speech
  1. 1.4.1Free speech is allowed and promoted to an extent.
  2. 1.4.2No racism or homophobia.
  3. 1.4.3This applies to names and media.
  4. 1.4.4Context and common sense apply to speech.
  5. 1.4.5Voice chat is lax, while `/ooc` text chat is stricter.
2. Behavior
2.1 Roleplay Conduct
  1. 2.1.1No changing jobs during RP situations.
  2. 2.1.2Demotes require a valid reason.
  3. 2.1.3Valid demote reasons include not doing the job, being AFK for 30+ minutes, or police corruption.
  4. 2.1.4Alt accounts are allowed for legitimate characters.
  5. 2.1.5Alt accounts are not allowed to evade punishment or gain an advantage. This is a permanent ban offense.
2.2 Non-Roleplay Conduct
  1. 2.2.1No minimodding. Report and move on.
  2. 2.2.2Do not repeatedly threaten reports.
  3. 2.2.3Do not punish rulebreakers yourself with AOS, KOS, propblocking, or similar actions.
  4. 2.2.4No staff impersonation.
  5. 2.2.5False reporting or deleting ticket evidence is punishable.
  6. 2.2.6No exploiting scripts, commands, cheats, macros, or autoclickers.
  7. 2.2.7No sexual or NSFW content, including media and ERP.
  8. 2.2.8No server crash or DDoS threats.
  9. 2.2.9No encouraging illegal activity.
3. Building Rules
3.1 General Base Rules
  1. 3.1.1Bases must be reachable and accessible at all times.
  2. 3.1.2A maximum of 2 fading doors may be used as doors in a base.
  3. 3.1.3Every area must be reachable by raiders.
  4. 3.1.4Bases must not permanently trap players.
  5. 3.1.5Houses require at least 1 entrance. Unused doors may be blocked off.
  6. 3.1.6Bases cannot be raided if they have a building sign up and have no valuables.
  7. 3.1.7If a base has valuables with a building sign and those valuables belong to the owner or base members, that is punishable.
  8. 3.1.8A sign cannot be added in the middle of a raid.
3.2 Layout & Fairness
  1. 3.2.1No mazes.
  2. 3.2.2A maze means more than one 180 degree turn, more than two 90 degree turns, or multiple excessive pathways used to artificially extend raid duration.
  3. 3.2.3No slowing or impeding player movement with tight props, clutter, physics tool abuse, or wire abuse.
  4. 3.2.4Raiders must never be forced to crouch or jump inside, outside, or to gain access to a base.
  5. 3.2.5Bases must not require the use of entity ladders at any time.
  6. 3.2.6If you can shoot someone, they must be able to clearly see you and shoot back.
  7. 3.2.7Entrances must be reasonably easy to find.
  8. 3.2.8Entrances must be visible and distinct from surrounding walls or terrain.
  9. 3.2.9This includes no-collide areas.
  10. 3.2.10Entrances must have a minimum 2x2 standing area, or 80x80 units.
3.3 Placement & Space
  1. 3.3.1Do not take excessive public space.
  2. 3.3.2Do not block weed drop-off points, ATMs, or trash cans.
  3. 3.3.3Weed drop-off must be fully walkable and not impede player movement.
  4. 3.3.4No KOS signs blocking weed drop-off points.
3.4 Special Restrictions
  1. 3.4.1No skybases or excessive aerial builds. Be reasonable.
  2. 3.4.2Only one connection to a drug drop-off location is allowed.
  3. 3.4.3Decorative or RP aerial builds are allowed.
  4. 3.4.4No blackout bases. Visibility must remain reasonable.
  5. 3.4.5KOS zones must start at a base's front door, whether map or fading.
  6. 3.4.6KOS zones are limited to the 2x2 prop or 80x80 area around the front door.
  7. 3.4.7Walkways used in bases must be at least 1x1 prop or 40 units wide.
3.5 RP Bases
  1. 3.5.1RP Bases are allowed within reason and have special restrictions
  2. 3.5.2No high value items are allowed to be owned and/or placed inside of Rp bases(Money printers, Gun shipments, Guns, Weed bricks, Drug Dealer equipment)
  3. 3.5.3RP bases are not allowed to be raided but players inside can be mugged.
  4. 3.5.4RP bases must clearly be declared so, whether that's a textscreen or every inch of the base being open.
3.6 Additional Rules
  1. 3.6.1Bases must be raidable with a crowbar. No code-only bases.
  2. 3.6.2All map doors in a base must have the same owner.
  3. 3.6.3Only buy doors you intend to use.
  4. 3.6.4Bases that deal damage must have fair counterplay.
4. Fading Doors
  1. 4.1Maximum 2 functional fading doors per base.
  2. 4.2Utility fading doors are allowed.
  3. 4.3Examples include one-way exits, peeking holes, and merchant airlocks.
  4. 4.4Merchant or dealer airlock doors are allowed if they are publicly accessible and not part of the base's main entrance or raidable area. Maximum 2.
  5. 4.5Merchants include Gun Dealer, Medic, Cook, and Drug Dealers.
  6. 4.6Fading doors must be visibly distinct from surroundings by color or material.
  7. 4.7Fading doors must be clearly identifiable.
  8. 4.8There must be enough space between doors to comfortably stand.
5. Prop & Wire Rules
  1. 5.1No props in other players' bases without permission.
  2. 5.2No prop climbing or flying.
  3. 5.3No prop spam or blocking.
  4. 5.4No prop movement during active RP or raids.
  5. 5.5No wire abuse.
  6. 5.6This includes auto-stealing money, excessively loud setups, stealing items from shipments, using components to kill or damage players, or using camera tools to look into player bases before a raid.
6. Job Rules
6.1 Mayor
  1. 6.1.1Must base in PD.
  2. 6.1.2Can build outside only for government or RP use, such as checkpoints.
  3. 6.1.3Laws must be reasonable.
  4. 6.1.4Laws must not contradict server rules.
  5. 6.1.5Laws must not target specific individuals or jobs such as Hitman, Hobos, or Drug Dealers.
  6. 6.1.6Major law changes must be announced before enforcement.
6.2 Police
  1. 6.2.1Must base in PD.
  2. 6.2.2Must follow hierarchy: Mayor, then Chief, then Officer.
  3. 6.2.3Can build outside only for government or RP use, such as checkpoints.
  4. 6.2.4Checkpoints cannot be used to tax or gain money.
  5. 6.2.5Checkpoints must have a reasonable RP reason.
  6. 6.2.6Lockdowns apply to outdoor spaces only and become active 10 seconds after initiation.
  7. 6.2.7Lockdowns are for arrests, not KOS.
  8. 6.2.8Police corruption is allowed in RP but not against other government members.
  9. 6.2.9Corrupt police may not kill the mayor or officers, let criminals into restricted areas, or place hits on the mayor or officers while currently on a government job.
  10. 6.2.10Arrests are only for lawbreakers and innocents cannot be arrested, even if bribed.
  11. 6.2.11Searches require an RP reason, such as hearing gunshots nearby or loitering near a drug drop.
  12. 6.2.12Police must attempt to arrest before killing unless a weapon is present.
  13. 6.2.13Police medics cannot revive just to arrest.
  14. 6.2.14Warrants expire on death, jail, or successful raid defense.
  15. 6.2.15Warrants must be announced before raiding. No stealth raids.
  16. 6.2.16The owner or an affiliate member must be made aware 30 seconds before a warrant or raid.
  17. 6.2.17The Mayor or Police Chief must make a public announcement, use /ooc or message the player themselves of the warrant/raid. (If said player is marked AFK must be a public annoucement)
  18. 6.2.18Warrants require valid RP evidence, such as hearing or seeing illegal activity.
6.3 Gun Dealer
  1. 6.3.1Must intend to sell.
  2. 6.3.2Cannot base with another gun dealer.
  3. 6.3.3Cannot raid.
  4. 6.3.4Must sell individual weapons, not only shipments.
  5. 6.3.5No scamming.
  6. 6.3.6Gun dealers may not rely only on automation and must offer manual trading if wanted.
  7. 6.3.7There must be a valid RP reason to refuse manual trading to a specific player.
6.4 Medic
  1. 6.4.1Must actively provide service.
  2. 6.4.2Cannot base with another medic.
  3. 6.4.3Can participate in raids.
  4. 6.4.4No scamming.
6.5 Hitman
  1. 6.5.1Only Hitman can perform hits.
  2. 6.5.2Hits must have a valid RP reason.
  3. 6.5.3There is a 10-minute cooldown per target.
  4. 6.5.4No metagaming hits.
  5. 6.5.5Hitmen may only raid active target locations.
7. Raiding
  1. 7.110-minute cooldown per base.
  2. 7.2A raid starts when a prybar is held or used within front door range, when someone enters without permission, or when someone walks past a KOS sign or zone.
  3. 7.3Defenders can always return.
  4. 7.4Raiders can return if teammates are alive.
  5. 7.5Third parties cannot return.
  6. 7.6Third parties may join if they have an RP reason.
  7. 7.7A raid ends if no raiders remain inside, even briefly.
  8. 7.8No props may be moved, changed, deleted, or added during raids.
  9. 7.9Only entity ladders may be used to access a base, not props.
  10. 7.10All jobs are eligble to raid unless they are otherwise specified within Section 6. Job Rules
8. Mugging
8.1 General Mugging Rules
  1. 8.1.1Maximum mug amount is $1,000.
  2. 8.1.2You can mug shipments of any value.
  3. 8.1.3There is a 5-minute cooldown per mug.
  4. 8.1.4Mugs must be typed or adverted, not voice only.
  5. 8.1.5You must give at least 10 seconds to respond.
  6. 8.1.6You cannot repeatedly target the same person.
8.2 Jobs That Cannot Mug
  1. 8.2.1Merchants cannot mug.
  2. 8.2.2Government cannot mug.
  3. 8.2.3Theatre Manager cannot mug.
  4. 8.2.4Medic cannot mug.
9. Minging
  1. 9.1Minging includes text spam.
  2. 9.2Minging includes prop abuse such as flying or climbing.
  3. 9.3Minging includes wire abuse used to annoy players.
  4. 9.4Minging includes excessive trolling.
  5. 9.5Players can mute others by opening the player list and setting their volume to zero.
10. Cooldowns

11. Reporting & Staff
11.1 If a Rule Is Broken
  1. 11.1.1Use `@` or `/Staff` in-game.
  2. 11.1.2Trusted players can jail in severe cases only.
  3. 11.1.3Discord reports should include the player name, Steam ID, and evidence.
11.2 Reporting Rules
  1. 11.2.1Provide full context, including before and after the event.
  2. 11.2.2Lying in a report equals punishment.
  3. 11.2.3Useful evidence tools include Steam recording, Medal.tv, Streamable, and OBS.
11.3 Final Note
  1. 11.3.1Common sense applies. Ask a staff member if you have any questions. If it feels wrong, and looks wrong, just don't do it.

Breaking these rules may result in warnings, mutes, kicks, bans, or permanent bans.
